Learn A Few Things You Need To Know About Selling Your Old Cell Phone

by Sofia Bradley

When you upgrade your cell phone to a newer model, it can be hard to know what to do with the old phone. Many people simply hold onto them and keep the phones collecting dust in a junk drawer somewhere in their house. Instead, you may want to consider selling the phone so that you can at least get some money for it rather than letting it must collect dust in a drawer. If you have thought, "I should sell my iPhone," but haven't been sure if you should, give it a try. When you want to sell your phone, there are a few things that you need to do to properly prepare. The following guide walks you through a few tips to use to ensure that you are able to sell your phone quickly and easily.

Download Everything Important Off of Your Phone

It is important to realize that once you sell your phone, you will not be able to retrieve it again. Anything that is saved on it will be gone forever. Take the time to hook your phone up to your computer and download any videos or pictures that you have saved on your phone that are important to you. This will allow you to have a copy of the items without having to actually keep the phone.

You May Need to Have the Charger

There are some places that require you to have the charger to the phone when you sell it to them. This is so that they can quickly sell it to someone else. Not all companies require this though.

You Should Remove the SIM Card in the Phone

If you have a phone that has a SIM card in it, it is best to remove the card before you take it to the business that will be buying your phone. You can look on the side of the phone and there should be a tiny door that opens and has a small card inside of it or a small hole you can insert a needle into and apply pressure to get a door to open. Push in on the card and it should pop out.

When you sell a phone, it does not always have to be in working condition. There are many phone buyers that will buy a phone even if the screen is cracked or it only shows static when you turn it on. A phone that is in good working condition will obviously bring more money than one that needs to be fixed though.
